JANA WARGERS AND MICHAEL CRISTOFOLETTI JOIN ASHFORD FARM

International showjumpers Jana Wargers and Michael Cristofoletti have partnered up with the team of Ashford Farm. The pair, who ran their own stables in Germany, already had a long-working relationship with Ashford Farm’s owner, Enda Carroll. The couple will hence forward call his stables in Bocholt, Belgium, their home.

The move to Ashford Farm was already taking shape, however due to an earlier than foreseen departure from the Sunshine Tour the plans had to be adjusted. “We made a virtue out of necessity”, Enda Carroll explains. “Jana and Michael already had most of the horses with them and because they had to go into quarantine, we agreed it would be better to push the moving plans forward.”

Next step
“Jana has been riding horses for Ashford Farm for over two years now and Michael has been involved with the management of these horses and as a sales partner. During this time, they’ve both continued to impress me, so I am looking forward to this next step in our collaboration. To have everyone under one roof will strengthen our position and will help Ashford Farm to continue to grow in the future. By combining our strengths and our sales networks we hope to be of service to more clients all over the world”, Enda concludes.

Partnership
German rider Jana Wargers and Michael Cristofoletti who represents Italy, are equally excited to join the Ashford Farm team: “We started with the idea to move closer to the centre of the horse industry. And after sharing our thoughts with Enda, we developed a new concept that allows us to develop our business and work more efficient as a team. The facilities here at Ashford Farm are amazing and we already feel at home.”

Joining forces
Michael continues: “With us working from Bocholt we will all be better together. Jana will continue to focus on the sport, and I will combine riding with developing the sales together with Enda. By connecting our network of clients, we will be able to create more opportunities. It will be amazing to be working alongside Enda and the rest of the Ashford Farm team.”

GREAT START TO THE SUNSHINE TOUR

The first week of the Sunshine Tour has been a great one. Both the horses and riders enjoyed getting into the show rhythm again. There have been lots of clear rounds and schooling opportunities.

With the young horses we give a special mention to 6yo Christophe Robin (by Christian x Carpaccio) who jumped clear rounds only with Jana Wargers. Just like seven-year-olds Janikie HBC (by Charisma x Nelson Z) with Stefanie Carroll and Zero 24 (by Zandor Z x Carthago) with Jana who also showed their potential by remaining clear in all the courses they jumped.

With the older horses Immanuel R (by Echo van ‘t Spieveld) impressed with Stefanie in the 1.30m by also keeping all the poles up in each round. And I’m Vera (by I’m Special de Muze x Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve) also cleared all her rounds and placed in the 1.40m with Jana.

To top the week of Icarus (by Querlybet x Skippy) jumped to great heights with Pieter Clemens. In the 1.50m Grand Prix on Sunday this pair made it into the jump-off and finished in a time that would’ve earned them a third place, had it not been for one unfortunate pole down. Placing 11th in the total standings and earning some ranking points along the way is still a result we happily conclude the first week with.

FIRST SHOW OF THE YEAR 2021

Tuesday we are kicking-off the first show day of 2021! After a well-spend winter break our horses have safely arrived and settled in at the Sunsine Tour in Spain. This amazing showground is where we will be staying for the next seven weeks.

Nearly three dozen horses are jumping under the Ashford Farm flag, ridden by our direct team members or other great riders. And we cannot wait to see how the horses will progress and develop over the next few weeks.

We wish Stefanie, Jack, Jana and all the other top riders, the grooms and the rest of our staff on site the best of luck, lots of sunshine and a great time.

Keep an eye our on our website and social media channels for the latest news and the achievements of our team.
